We stayed in Ibis hotel where you may find a lot of ibis in everywhere.....
In hotel lobby, waiting for the rooms to be distributed.
Surprisingly the room we get in Koln has the same number as the room we stayed in Amsterdam. The one we stayed in Ams was not Ibis. How coincidence!
After we've got enough rest, we decided to have a walk. It's bad that we're not staying in town centre. The place we stayed is Weyerstr, which is near the Barbarossapl. train station. This place is located quite far from town centre. which requires a public transport such as bus, taxi or tram.
We simply walk and found the St. Pantaleon church near our hotel. As it's a Roman Catholic city, it has a lot of Catholic church in Koln. All are nice and beautiful. Really love the design of the buildings!
The street which they described as 'happing street' is Zulpicher Str which is located opposite of this church. But then we found that is was not really 'happening'.
I was really impressed by such a bit wall painting! I love that!
Its hard to decide which restaurant to enter since all looking the same. Everyone is craving for wifi rather than food. We found that there are not really much restaurant willing to share their wifi as they only for private staff's use. Finally we entered one restaurant called 'Bella Rossa'.
Luckily we met a waitress who are very kind to explain the menu one by one to us! All is in german language, I can't even read. Then I found out that if you're going to travel to country like this, you better learn the name of the food (eg. beef) which you're not eating.
The waitress told me that 'Kolsch' is the most famous beer in Germany which you must try. Unfortunately, there are a lot of brands and the one we had in Bella Rossa was very bitter and not really in a good taste. I ordered 'Bella Rossa' which was their most famous dish. This shop only sells roasted beef and turkey.
After our dinner we went into a grocery shop nearby. I'm really enjoy to shop because the products and things are totally different from where we have been.
Another thing is that the beer are very cheap!!!! It cost around 1.20 euro in reataurant (although it alrdy been considered as cheap) but in supermarket you could get it in 85 cent!
These are the beer we bought! The first one very bitter. The bittest beer ever! The second one taste like juice which was quite nice, the third one is totally =Shandy! Nice! I drank it in an early morning......
