Madrid - Attractions

If you don't know how to start your research, you may search for tour and download their information especially their route of tour, but not necessary join them. This does save your time as normally tour does included famous attraction and the shortest walking distance.

And when you reached the airport, please take some maps or information at the information center.

Templo de Debod

It is an ancient temple which was rebuilt in Madrid. There are two parks at both side of the temple. At the back of the temple, you can see a small part of the city and also the palace.

Catedral de la Almudena & Palacio Real

You can walk from the Templo de debod (above) to left side, passing by a royal park, you can reach a cathedral, together with the Real Palace.

This is the view when you walk out from the park: a row of shop lot and at the end, there is another park. Same row with the park (where you're from) is the Palace.

This thing (I don't know what it called) is common in Madrid and you can rent them!!!

Real Palace

Park opposite the Palace.

Walk passed the palace, you will find a dreamy the Catedral de la Almudena. I super love this cathedral even though I didn't make it to enter. You will need to purchase ticket to enter.

Next, if walk pass the Cathedral, when you saw the bridge,

Dont cross it!!! Before the bridge, turn to your left if you want to go to area around Plaza Mayor.

This is the Case de Villa, but it was closed during that day T________T

hmmmmmmm and then you will find the Mercado San Miguel at that side. It's a very famous Madrid market which looks very luxury. A lot of bar, tapas, desserts etc inside. I very love this lovely place <3

Mercado San Miguel

This can be consider as the must-eat thing: Dessert coffee? For example the five layer coffee, top is whipped cream, followed by coffee, milk, hot chocolate and milk. It's nice but very sweet at last. Just drink without stirring it.

Another must-see attraction is the Puerta de Sol, where you can travel there by Metro, SOL station.

Puerta de Sol

It is the town center of Madrid.

The Sol Metro station.

The opposite of the Station (cross the road) you will find the center point of Madrid.

The 0 degree sign is just under this building Comunidad.

There are a lot of shops in this area.

This is the Plaza Mayor and there is a concert at that day.

Most importantly, the World's oldest restaurant is located near the Plaza Mayor! If from the sight of the above picture, walk to the right side.

Restaurante Sobrino de Botin

Normally you will need to reserve seat but that day we're just lucky enough to catch a seat!

I recommend the Squid Ink Rice! Their famous dish is the Roasted Sucking pig and Roasted Baby Lamb.

Squid Ink Rice

One is Roast Baby Lamb and one is Roast suckling pig.
Suddenly don't know which is which.

By conclusion, Madrid did really gave me a good memory. It is not as crowded as Barcelona. You can feel the 'slow timing' in this dreamy place and realized that Spanish's style of living is kinda relax.
